I lay stagnant watching as the stars sit
It is easy to delude my mind
When it is this drowsy and lethargic
So I shut my restless eyes and trap the dark in
Images of fantasy sweep my dreary mind
I have her in my arms again
We take each other's hand
Lunge and plunge into the sea
Paddle until we are greeted
With soft sand and palm trees
A sunny sky with a calm breeze
We stretch out side by side on the warm land
Wet lips fasten
I feel secure with the grip of your hand
We know too that I must return soon
But neither of us are ready
Her eyes glisten
Then I kiss her lips and wet cheeks
Disturbed by a familiar ruckus
I wake up with tight grip of a bed sheet
Tearful smiles
I know I will see her tonight in my next sleep
